Current trend of globalization not only urges domestic universities to cultivate human resources needed by future society but also increases the degree of necessity and importance thereof in terms of the export of the education in domestic universities.
The Korean Association of Foreign Student Administrators (hereinafter, KAFSA) was founded in 1999 for leaders and staffers working for international education of domestic educational institutions of higher learning to encourage the interchange of information thereof, and now, it is regarded as the one representing the international interchange of domestic universities.

KAFSA has been working for the universities/colleges of its membership as an institution leading domestic universities/colleges to the globalization by helping them to acquire recent expertises through workshops held biannually every year with the programs designed to facilitate the interchange of information thereof.
It has also been cooperating with foreign institutions like the NAFSA (US), EAIE (EU), JAFSA (Japan), and CAFSA (China) as the representative one in Korea informs them current state of Korean universities promotes the international interchange thereof. Besides, KAFSA has been making efforts to improve global competitiveness of domestic universities/colleges by presenting directions of the establishment and implementation of practical policies to the government for the internationalization of domestic universities.

KAFSA operates on the foundation of membership where in the enrollment there of is updated annually. Domestic Colleges and Universities may acquire regular membership of KAFSA where as other institutions related with university/college education may bean associate member.
Universities and colleges of its membership receive up-to-date information on international interchanges prepared by KAFSA, and will have opportunities to get educational participation in various workshops or seminars.
