Greetings from the President of KAFSA

We welcome all Representatives of KAFSA Member Universities

KAFSA is the Korean Association of Foreign Student Administrators composed of universities representing international education and exchanges. With KAFSA, universities have been diversifying international programs that involve students, researchers, and employees who assume leading roles in international academic exchanges. Members of KAFSA are providing with a variety of opportunities for global exchanges around the world.

This year in 2021, we aim to further promote and actively engage in KAFSA’s ongoing efforts to reach out, network, and build bridges across the global community. KAFSA successes have been the result of our former and current members, and we hope to continue the momentum. As KAFSA believes in respect for the cultural heritage and environments of our member universities, we seek to pursue international programs in which all can participate. In particular, we are aiming to open discussions in which we can share exemplary cases of our member universities and introduce new policies. In addition, with cooperation from other related organizations, KAFSA is aiming to implement the following initiatives in order to launch an international consultative group to host high-quality international exchanges and promote active cooperation:

- To seek alternatives to traditional international exchanges in response to the limitations caused by COVID-19
- To enhance bonds by sharing information about exemplary cases among members
- To establish a firm KAFSA foothold by strengthening cooperative relations with other educational organizations and government sectors.
- To organize the statutes of KAFSA and upgrade systems of administrative offices to improve customer services

Last year, difficulties were experienced worldwide due to the COVID-19. Fortunately, there is hope on the horizon as the scientific and medical fields are working tirelessly for a cure. Until then, continued patience, cooperation, and collaboration will undoubtedly result in mutual benefits for all. Moreover, despite the turbulence the pandemic has caused, we are also witnessing innovations in a number of areas, and hopefully, we will all emerge closer and wiser.

In closing, I would like to express my gratitude to all our members who dedicated efforts have led to KAFSA’s achievements. Thank you for your continued interest, attention, and assistance in helping KAFSA become a globally recognized organization.
